Love

Someone loves her Daddy. Unfortunately, Chris has been traveling quite a bit for work over the past couple of weeks. Between the out-of-town jaunts and class three days a week she's been seeing him only on the weekends, which is when he's locked up with his computer studying and writing papers. Linc isn't old enough to comprehend all of this, but Ava is.

Chris leaves for work early in the morning, before the kids are usually awake. He was making his lunch before work the other morning (I was too tired to do it the night before) when we heard the pitter patter of feet above us. A minute later a groggy Ava appeared downstairs. She marched right past me and ran to see her Daddy. She was so excited to be able to catch a couple extra minutes with her Daddy before he disappeared again for a few days. As soon as she realized that he was making his lunch she dragged her chair next to him and was eager to help. She was giddy and didn't stop talking to him for a minute.

I think this made her day. Spending some special time with Daddy in the morning.
