Easter

Here are some pictures of the kids hunting for eggs...

Ava was so sweet and helpful to Lincoln. She's such a good big sister!

Spiderman eggs! The Easter Bunny sure knows what Linc likes!

Linc was happy, I promise! I asked him to smile so he gave me a pout instead. Typical Lincoln!

After the egg hunt the kids enjoyed some good old fashioned outdoor fun while the rest of us worked in the yard. They found a caterpillar and Ava actually picked it up (with some encouragement and support from Papa, again)! Linc wouldn't touch it despite Ava's peer pressure efforts. The kids made a "habitat" (as Ava calls it) for the caterpillar and then they pretty much doted over it the rest of the afternoon.

Doting...

Ava teaching Lincoln how to use the bubble wand (this is why they're both covered in blue bubble formula)...

Ava enjoyed some time in the sprinklers while Lincoln napped...

Happy Easter!

P.S. Notice Ava's hair... Her Easter basket from Ninny and Yoda included a little "Tangled" doll and Ava was playing with it all morning. When it was time to get dressed, Ava asked me to give her a "Rapunzel braid".

Zoo

We visited the Zoo this weekend...

The peacock was Linc's favorite zoo attraction...

I really liked feeding the giraffes!

Chris REALLY liked the birds (apparently the feeling was mutual)...

At first Ava was cautious and concerned concerning all the zoo activities.  She didn't want to get up close to the snake's cage, she didn't feed the giraffes and she wasn't interested in the birds, at first.  With a little encouragement and support from Papa Bear she eventually made her way into the bird sanctuary and she loved it!  I'm so glad she put on her brave pants because she really likes birds and it would have been sad to watch her miss an opportunity like this.  Thanks, Papa!

 Tyler didn't like the birds...

Ava kept her brave pants on, got hands-on and enjoyed the rest of the zoo visit!

Attitude

Attitude.  He's full of it.

Oy!  The drama!  The pout lip and the slumped shoulders.  All of it.  It's a production.  He deserves an Oscar.  The pout-face above was caused by a one-year-old girl.  Yep.  We were babysitting for a friend and, being the creeper that I am, I was taking pictures of the sweet little one-year-old when I felt Linc hovering over my shoulder.  I glanced up and saw that pout.  Seriously.  I asked him what was wrong and he replied, "Take picture me!"  Someone was a little jealous.  I snapped the shot above and then he was happy and all was right with the world, as far as he was concerned...

Errands

A big part of Linc's morning involves running errands with me.

He's a super duper helper. When we go to the grocery store for just a couple items I usually let Linc walk, rather than ride in the grocery cart, because that's his preferred method of shopping anyway. Only problem is, when he's walking he's more prone to see all the cool stuff he never knew he wanted which just happens to be strategically placed on the shelves at his eye level. This usually adds an extra ten minutes to our outing because I find myself constantly reminding him that we really don't need a third box of granola bars at home or that Louis really doesn't like to eat cat food, etc. Anyway, I couldn't say "no" to the box of Spiderman gummy snacks that he discovered the other day. He made such a scene on aisle 3 when he spotted them. He was excited, to say the least. He proudly carried the box of Spiderman gummy snacks to the register and presented them to the clerk. She scanned them and then kindly put them in a bag of their own and handed the bag to Lincoln. I'm pretty sure he felt like quite the big boy. Don't you know, he carried that bag through the parking lot and found the perfect spot for it in the trunk of the car - after snatching a pack of gummy snacks to much on the the car, of course.

Grocery shopping is way more fun when you unexpectedly run into a life-size M&M!

A morning of errands is enough to tucker out even the biggest of big boys...

Spring is in the air!

And on the playground...

Baltimore

Chris and I escaped last weekend!  We dropped the kids off with Honey & Papa and then we escaped to Maryland.  First we visited with some old friends - nothing like catching up with good friends (thanks, Jon & Becky!).  Then we checked into our hotel where we met up with Ryan, Jeff and Rachel.  We got all gussied up and went out to dinner in the city.  Then we went to a Cirque du Soleil show.  It was a lovely time.  The next day we stopped by our old stomping grounds (and our first house) on our way home.  Here's a picture...

We thought it looked like the same people who bought it from us were still living there.  It also looked like they added on to the house (this was their original plan when they bought from us).  It was fun to drive around...it felt like we never left!  Ahh, memories...

Unfortunately, two hours into our drive home we got a flat "tyre".

Fortunately, we were able to safely pull off the road and fix it.

Well, maybe we didn't fix it but we called USAA and they sent someone out to help.  Same difference.  Chris did a great job supervising...

We made it home safe and sound to our babies.  While I missed them terribly it was good to get a break.
