Flashback Friday (a day early)

I know Ava has changed a lot in the past year and I'm constantly reminded just how much she has changed when I see the three-year-olds at her pre-school.  The three-year-olds are tiny by comparison and they still need a lot of reassurance.  I can't believe that was Ava a mere year ago.  It's so exciting to watch her grow with her friends.  The four-year-olds are confident, independent and conversational.  This is SUCH a fun age!!

Anyway, while uploading the pictures from today's pre-school Halloween parade I came across this picture of Ava from last year.  See the difference?

Flashback Friday

On Monday Ava starts her last year of pre-school before Kindergarten. It's not something I like to dwell on because it makes me sad to realize how quickly time is passing. These precious years are flying by and I miss them already. I can't believe my baby girl is going into the big kid pre-school classroom. I can't believe how much she has changed over the past year. I can't believe that she still thinks I'm awesome. I can't believe that she still loves cuddling with me. I can't believe that she's the same person as that newborn baby in the hospital who wouldn't sleep a wink during her first night. I can't believe that we have conversations about anything and everything and that most of the time she just feels like a good friend to me. I just can't believe any of it. And now I'm dwelling...

Pizza and Peanut Butter Fudge Treats and Cousins and...and...and...

Friday night was Pizza & Beer night...

As mentioned in my last blog post, Sam & Tyler are visiting. The kids and I ran over to Honey & Papa's house Friday afternoon to let the fun times begin well before there was any pizza (or beer) involved.

The girls and I decided to make a dessert. We made Peanut Butter Fudge Treats. The girls were very helpful!

Of course, we had to take a Rice Krispie snack break.

Who doesn't listen to their Rice Krispie cereal before digging into it?

(Only Ava tried "communicating" back to the cereal...sigh...)

The finished product of deliciousness...

Neither my teeth nor my waistline are thanking me!
