As soon as my Mom told me that she was getting Ava her first digital camera for Christmas I started planning our "photography dates." Unfortunately, I had to exercise patience because the weather has been uncooperative. We had a warmish weekend a few weeks ago so Ava and I spent a few hours together one morning. We enjoyed lunch together and then a stroll down DOG St. to capture some sights. It would appear as though Ava is currently into nature photography. I just printed and displayed six of her pieces in our house. I can't wait for our next date!
This first series of photos (color) are mine (obviously)...
Here she stopped eating for a minute and is contemplating taking a photo of some people and two HUGE German Shepherds that were mingling outside. She decided to take the picture and you can view it in her series below.
With a full belly she's ready to roll...
She was picky about this photo. She wanted to get it just right. She took about five shots before she was happy enough to move on. You can view the finished product in her series below.
Ava is really looking forward to the spring. She got extremely excited when she noticed buds on this tree. She asked me to take a picture so this is what I came up with. I was using my 35mm lens so it's a poor attempt at a macro shot.
She took a lot of breaks to do important five-year-old stuff like balance on rocks, draw lines in the dirt with a stick and throw stuff into puddles.
She even graced my lens with some of her best poses...
Oh yeah, and we hung out with Captain. We fed him some carrots :-)

Side note: She picked out her outfit. It's a luxury she enjoys Friday-Sunday.
