6 Months

Lincoln had his 6-month doctor appointment today! He weighed in at 19 pounds 6 ounces (85th percentile). He's 28 inches long (91st percentile) and his head is 17 1/2 inches (79th percentile). He's a growing boy! Since he's eating and sleeping so beautifully we didn't have too many questions...made for a quick appointment. He got some shots and therefore earned some sparkly silver band-aids that I saw Ava eyeing. The doctor said we can start him on stage 2 foods and yogurt.

Also, the doctor brought up an interesting point regarding car seats - other parents and grandparents might want to tune in. He said that the American Academy of Pediatrics recently came out with a study suggesting that children should be rear-facing in the car until 2 years of age. He said the study showed that they're 5 times safer that way in the event of an automobile accident. I'm not sure how comfortable this is for the tall kids... He also said that once we turn our children around in the car seat that we should keep them in a 5-point harness for as long as possible. He said that his own eleven or twelve (can't remember) year old daughter is still in a booster seat because she's petite and the seat belt would otherwise injure her in an accident.

Overall, the appointment went well. He goes back at 9 months. The little man is wiped out and snoozing his little heart out in his bed right now.
