Zsa Zsa in Seattle

What a week!  Courtney arrived in Seattle last Friday night and she stayed with us for a week.  We had SO MUCH fun and we stayed pretty busy!  It was so exciting for us to explore the area with her.  Most of what we did was a first for us, too.  I still can't believe it but it didn't rain a single drop during Courtney's eight-day visit!!  It hasn't stopped raining since she left.  What luck!

Here's our week, in a nutshell:

We hopped aboard the Queen of Seattle at Lake Union for a two hour tour of the city, via water.

Zsa Zsa and the kids posing on the Lake Union waterfront with the Space Needle backdrop...

Courtney posing in front of the Queen of Seattle, with a flag pole growing out of her head...

Chris and kids on the Queen of Seattle...

Kids are waiting for their food on the boat...

Hitching a ride with Zsa Zsa...

After our boat ride we walked to Chris' work campus.  This is Lincoln, posing like Spiderman, in front of Chris' building...

We also stopped by Starbucks for Frappuccino Happy Hour!

The infamous Uncle Ryan look-alike...have you seen him at a Starbucks near you?

We visited the Ballard Locks and the Fish Ladder one afternoon.  Lincoln fell asleep in the car on the way...

After listening to Chris complain about carrying Linc, Ava offered to help...

This obviously didn't work.  It's the thought that counts, right?  Don't worry, we woke him up.  After all, wouldn't want him to miss something as cool as the Ballard Locks!

This is Courtney posing at the Ballard Locks...

 The Locks...

 Part of the Fish Ladder...

 The kids learning about Salmon...

One of Courtney's visitation requests was to eat seafood.  One of my local friends suggested this great restaurant.  Somehow, we managed to score a table outside at sunset!  The view was unbelievable and the food and cocktails were delicious.

 Cheers!

 The view...

 The (goofy) crew...

On Mother's Day, Courtney and I participated in the long anticipated COLOR RUN 5k!  It was a ridiculous amount of fun!

Here we are waiting for the bus, first thing in the morning...

Court is working on her warm-up...

 On the bus, game face...

 The sea of white...

 The START line!

 After the race...COLOR!

The Dance Party/Color Cloud after the race...

Colorful Courtney, color cloud and Space Needle...

I got in on the color action, too...

The two of us, all colorful and pretty...

I think this is a good, albeit messy, look for me...

The Mother's Day acrostic poem Ava made for me (this is too good to leave out)...

Of course we visited the famous Seattle fish-flying Farmer's Market!

Ava wanted this picture with the live statue lady...

We enjoyed countless Happy Hours on the patio, as planned.  It was probably one of my favorite parts about Courtney's visit and certainly one that I'll miss the most...

The weather was SO fantastic that we even BBQ'd at the neighborhood park one night...

All that college tail-gating paid off - she builds a charcoal pyramid like a Boss!

 Charcoal hands...

 Kids...

Look who got a photo-op!  Aren't we sweet?  Love.

Chris and Courtney enjoyed a romantic candle-lit dinner on the patio...

Village walk!  We ventured into the neighborhood village for breakfast...

Did I mention we had (lots of) patio Happy Hour(s)?

Being the amazing Aunt that she is...

News Flash!  There's a beach in Seattle!  Proof...

 Courtney's "Best Cupcake Ever" cupcake...

 These guys like sugar...

We went for a walk on the trail.  I took this picture of this OLD tree on the trail for Dad.  Cool, huh, Dad?

Zsa Zsa got to join Linc and I for music class...

 Dancing together at music...

Cute picture of Linc at Music...

Another cute picture of Linc at Music...

 Gosh.  Another one...

We made the world's biggest salads at Whole Foods and then we had a picnic lunch at Gas Works Park...

City view from Gas Works Park...

 Me and Linc...

Then we had the brilliant idea to hand the camera over to Linc to get some pictures together...

We had some good laughs :-)

Louis got groomed!

Not only did Courtney treat us to some terrific cocktails, but she also made us an enormous and ridiculously tasty cake...

Oh!  I almost forgot!  We had Happy Hour on the patio...

 Truth.

Someone got some R&R...

On Court's last day we headed down to the Seattle Center where we checked out the Pacific Science Center.  Here, the kids are touching fossilized Dinosaur dung...

 Big dinosaur...

 Butterfly house...

 My King Tut...

Our last dinner in Seattle with Zsa Zsa!

Since Chris doesn't take pictures of me with the kids, I have to rely on Courtney when she visits...  (Look, kids!  You have a Mom and she was present during your childhood!)

Man, we had a really good time.  Courtney is GREAT company.  My abs are literally sore from laughing so much.  I'm already planning her next visit...can't wait!
