Ava's Camera

Ava got her first digital camera for Christmas.  She has been taking a lot of pictures lately.  Here are some of my favorites so far...

And at one point Lincoln got his hands on her camera.
The last two pictures are Lincoln's work...

Ava and are are planning a photo shoot date in the near future and I hope to print and display her work in the house.

Think photo gallery!

Can't wait!

Birthday Cake

My birthday was on Wednesday and Ava made my cake for me :-)
It was beautiful and delicious!

Trouble in a Pettiskirt

This is how Louis looks at Chris...
I don't get this look from him...he reserves it for Chris.

Poor little bugger got fixed last week.  He handled it like a champ and was back to his goofy, sweet and lovable self by the time we picked him up from the vet.

Arts & Crafts

My New Year resolution is to spend more one-on-one time with the kids. I know I do a lot with them...but I think I could do more. In the future, when I reflect on my time with them, I want to know that I did the best I could do. I'm always running around keeping the house in order that I sometimes forget to sit and read a book with them or to simply color together :-( I hate that. There are a lot of nights that I go to bed thinking, "Tomorrow is another day. Tomorrow I'll do better." I don't want to think that way anymore. I resolve to go to bed every night thinking, "Today was great! Tomorrow is going to be great, too!" I think a lot of stay-at-home parents feel this way. It's a tough balance, it really really is. Both kids enjoy doing arts and crafts and so do I! Here's to a new year full of coloring, gluing and painting!

"BROWN!" He's passionate.
(Also, look at all the beautiful circles Linc is drawing these days!)

SPIN ART!! It's baaaaack :-)
(Also, doesn't Ava look sooo old in this picture?)

It's a new year!

Namaste.

Big Boy

Mommy: "Lincoln, are you my baby?"

Lincoln: "No! Big boy!"

After our visit to North Carolina over the holidays, and learning about Lincoln's ability to successfully sleep in a bed, we decided to convert his crib into a toddler bed. We're taking baby steps with this transition so we're using a bed rail. Linc is pretty proud of his big boy bed self! Although, he wasn't quite ready to let go of the aquarium :-P He's *so* still my baby!

Ballerina

This is what Ava does every day since she got the Nutcracker video for Christmas and this gorgeous skirt.  Unfortunately, she caught on to me videotaping her so she instantly became more engrossed in watching herself dance on the video.  You get the idea anyway.  It's sweet.
